The Attorre family lives in a respectable suburb of small houses: Luca (Adriano Giannini), a “very free” freelance journalist, author of colour articles that hardly sells in the newspapers, Susi (Micaela Ramazzotti), a dancer resigned to teaching dance to overweight ladies, and Lucilla, the quiet and imaginative six-year-old girl suffering from severe bronchial asthma. In a magnificent and incomprehensible Rome, stratified, mother and stepmother, arrives Mary Ann (Roisin O’Donovan), an Irish art history student, au pair for the little Lucilla. One year in Italy and with the Attorres full of legal and illegal relationships, friendship and love.
