Giulio (Pierfrancesco Favino), Gemma (Micaela Ramazzotti), Paolo, (Kim Rossi Stuart), Riccardo (Claudio Santamaria) are friends and “Gli anni più belli” is their story that lasts forty years, from 1980 to the present, from adolescence to adulthood. Hopes, disappointments, successes and failures are the intertwining of their great story. A story of friendship and love which describes Italy and the Italians. The movie is a great fresco of who we are, where we come from and who our children will be and where they will go. It’s the great circle of life with recurring dynamics despite different years and ages are flowing in the background.
