DOGTOOTH
2009 / DRAMA
One of the debut works of the Greek director, nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film, awarded at Cannes Festival in the “Un certain regard” section, Dogtooth is a proof of great cinema still unpublished in Italy.
A family of father, mother and three children lives in the suburbs, in a house surrounded by a big fence. The children have never crossed that fence that separates them from the rest of the city and they have been educated without any influence from the outside world by the will of their partents. The balance is broken when the father, in order to satisfy his son’s sexual instincts, introduces an external element into the house: Christina.
